A Global Next G: Global Standards, Global Services?

Around the world national bodies are promoting their role in creating a new generation of communications, funnelled through bodies such as ITU and 3GPP into technical standards. While that sounds as though there are unified concepts of what future telecoms should be, national agendas are in practice quite distinct. Are we looking at a future where in practice a global ‘6G’ has very different capabilities from country to country?
