Joseph Levy

Joseph Levy is a Principal Engineer in the Wireless and Networking Lab of InterDigital, Inc. He is currently InterDigital’s lead standards delegate to IEEE 802.11TM Wireless Local Area Networks Working Group and is currently focused on developing and advancing IEEE 802.11 standards and related technologies, particularly in the areas of next generation networks.

Joseph currently serves IEEE 802.11 as the Chair of the 802.11 Advanced Access Network Interface Standing Committee (AANI SC), the vice Chair of the 802.11 Task Group for Next Generation V2X (TGbd), and as the Vice Chair and Secretary of the 802.11 Architecture Standing Committee (ARC SC).

Joseph is currently serving on the IEEE Standards Association (SA) Audit Committee (AudCom), and previously served on the IEEE SA Standards Association Standards Board (SASB) and the IEEE SA New Standards Committee (NesCom).

Joseph has also participated in 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) standardization development. Prior to joining InterDigital, Joseph was a Sr. Staff Engineer at EDO Corporation where he was responsible for system and component design and development of microwave and millimeter wave receiver systems for military and commercial space applications.

Joseph received the Sc. B. Degree in Engineering (Electrical and Biomedical) from Brown University and the M.S. Degree in Electric Engineering form Polytechnic Institute of New York (now a school of New York University). Joseph is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York. Mr. Levy has 71 granted and 105 pending US Patents.

Joseph is a member of the IEEE and is member of multiple IEEE societies: the Communications Society, the Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTTS), the Vehicular Technology Society, and the Standards Association. He has served in various officer rolls for the IEEE Long Island Section and the IEEE MTTS Long Island Section.

Joseph is a licensed New Your State Professional Engineer.
